T60 Random Blank Screen

T60, XP, Centrino Duo Processor, T2400 @ 1.83 GHz

Just got it last week and I've been experiencing a couple frequent problems. The glaring one being that the moniter blanks out (but doesn't shut down) randomly. The screen blanks to a very dark gray or black without me hitting any keys or issuing it any commands. Once the screen even changed to a solid, dark mahogany color.

My battery can be at any % or even charging. This has occurred even without any kind of video file playing. The computer's not being strained in any way, it can happen with nothing but my internet browser (Firefox) running.

Once the screen blanks out, my key commands appear to go through (after I sleep, whatever I typed in a field after screen blanks out is there), however none of them resolve the issue before I have to resort to Function F4-ing into sleep and then turning back on.

Any help or redirection to a relevant thread would be greatly appreciated. (In a search through the FAQ and key words "blank screen", I didn't get any results pertaining to the screen failing randomly when not just being woke up.)
