I have a out of warranty t61, and recently the fan started making a loud buzzing noise. It is still moving air and staying cool, but it's annoying to listen too.
First question: Anyone have any experience with replacing this fan? From the service manual it looks straightforward ... any thing to be aware of?
Second Question: I called Lenovo to get parts and prices. They gave me two fan model numbers
42-w2462
44-c0557
The first one was $28.00 and the second one was $263.00! Why are they so different in price?! None of the techs could explain why they would be so different. Anyone here know? My guess is that one maybe comes with the heatsink, but curious about this.
Thanks, Mark
