T60p fan VERY LOUD.... Need replacement part number

I tried to lookup the part number for the replacement fan on my T60p and there are 4 different part numbers listed for 2613-CTO.
41V9931 Thermal device and fan (Integrated)
41W6406 Thermal device and fan (Integrated)
41V9932 Thermal device and fan (Discrete)
41W6407 Thermal device and fan (Discrete)
I did a custom order with the "ATI MOBILITY FireGL V5250". So I assume I should order a Discrete model, but that still leaves me two to choose from...
I recorded my fan noise using the built in microphone on the laptop... Check it out. I used TPFanControl to start with the fan off, and switched from 1 to 3 to 7 and back to 0 fan speed modes.

Yes, you need one for discrete graphics.
Quick googling reveals that the 41V9932 was installed in machines with Core Duo CPU whereas the 41W6407 in Core 2 Duo ones.
I'm not 100% sure thou, can anyone confirm this?
EDIT: Have you tried cleaning the fan with compressed air? Possibly by taking the keyboard off and blowing from the top too?

I have only blown air in from the side and back... I'll try taking off the keyboard tonight when I get home...
My sysinfo page reports:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU
T7200 @ 2.00 GHz

I was actually at the order screen on the Lenovo.com when I decided to post here first... Good thing I did!
I was going to order the wrong part lol. I have a Core 2 Duo processor, so I need the 41W6407.
Ordering new one from Lenovo site now... This thing is too loud for me to believe it can be fixed. I'll have a spare either way, not sure I will ever want to part with this laptop...
Edit: $75.51.... ouch.

Check, before you spend the money on a new fan that it's not the WLAN antenna cable that is hitting the fan slightly. This cable exits from the left hinge, rests on the heatsink, and is held by a metal bracket mounted ontop of the LCD cable connector.
Other than that - the clearance for the fan is absurdly small - i once tried to install the fan from a T61p into a T60p heatsink, but it was really hard to get it to work, without hitting/brushing the metal, so that might also be it.
the 41v9932 is for discrete core duo systems (14.1" and 15.0")
41W6407 is what you want, the only difference i know of is the position of the thermal paste for the CPU suits the larger, rotated core 2 duo core chip.

I took off the keyboard and checked real quick. Its not a cable. Nothing in the fan area, and I could spin the fan by hand and hearing the clicking sound...

My t43p is also VERY noisy and very hot. I suspect that dust had accumulated inside-- is it hard to remove the keyboard? Does that give you good access to the inside?

My T42 was easy to take apart just like the T60p.

This site is cool but it doesn't feature instructions for pre-T60 series so it won't be much help for venik.
Here's a picture I googled of a T41 with keyboard removed, T43 should look very similar.

The fan is visible so you could try using compressed air to blow the dust out. Taking the keyboard off is very easy, just remove the screws from the bottom marked with keyboard icon.
In T4x series you can remove the keyboard without removing anything else. In T6x, you have to remove the palmrest first but luckily it has only 4 screws and they are not behind these small covers that won't stick back if you take them off too often (T4x has them).

Go grab the
Hardware Maintenance Manual - ThinkPad T43/p for your particular T43p. Also, you may see the various movies
Hardware removal and installation - ThinkPad T40/p, T41/p, T42/p, T43/p.
As to your T43p being hot, this is a "feature" of T43/p's - see how to improve that through the suggestions in the last part of
this post.

Got the fan in like 3 days ago, but didnt have time to swap them out until tonight. Replacement process was fairly easy, I used alot of compressed air to clean out all the dust. I also stuck a couple pennies under the fan bracket to put more pressure on the GPU.
The rattling is gone, looks like the GPU temp is running alot cooler so far too.
