T61Integrated Webcam Not Found in Devmgmt!

Hi guys,

Recently I swapped out the LCD panel on my T61, and had to disconnect the integrated webcam by lifting the little square connector off of the webcam circuit board. When I plugged this back in and booted up, the "Integrated Camera" which used to be under the Scanners and Imaging devices tab of the Device Manager was nowhere to be found!

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers which came with the laptop but that doesn't seem to work. I've also downloaded the newer ones from the lenovo site, but attempting to install them gives a "The integrated camera has not found!" error.

I'm wondering if anyone has had this problem before, scanning for hardware changes doesn't result in any yellow "?" marks, and I cannot manually add an "Integrated Camera" as a legacy hardware.

The integrated camera has always been a notoriously finicky object. Thus, I would appreciate any and all advice you guys are willing to give.

EDIT: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-68918 is a link I've stumbled across many times, but I think it's probably just an older driver version which doesn't solve my root problem of the hardware not being detected? Correct me if I'm wrong!

open the machine again and make sure that the connector is really connected correctly.
I don't have an integrated camera, so I wouldn't know whether the connector fits in only one way into the motherboard. But the touchpad connector fits in two ways, and only one way is the correct way and will let the machine recognize the touchpad.
