Welcome to the forum!
What you need is the "ThinkPad Serial ATA Hard Drive Bay Adapter" (Lenovo FRU 40Y8725), which can be found as an original, genuine Lenovo part (although pretty expensive; look for yourself --> here!) or which can be found as "Made In China" copies - the latter which only cost around $20 on eBay (even incl. worldwide shipping!); see e.g. --> this. Try search the net for 40Y8725 and you will find other sources.

OK, there's one more question;]
I found this one:
http://picasaweb.google.com/lemonheart8 ... 5150072034
and this:
https://www.lapstars.de/product_info.ph ... d=wmfoloms
both adapters are no. 40Y8725 parts but are diferents - they've diferent interface to plug in hdd...

Re: t61p - 2nd hdd in ultrabay
The second picture that you point to; the one --> here is erroneous (wrong, incorrect!); it shows the 2nd UltraBay Slim PATA HDD adapter (which is having FRU e.g. 62P4554), which are used for older ThinkPad's such as X4x/X6x/R5x/R6x/T4x/Z6x. Just get the part with FRU 40Y8725 and you're home safe.
According to the thread T61: SATA & PATA Ultrabay Slim Drive Adapter Questions both PATA and SATA UltraBay Slim HDD adapters can be used in T6x ThinkPads, but since the HDD you have is SATA, you obviously need the SATA device; which is 40Y8725.
All clear now? If so, just go ahead and place your order!

Hallo, poiuytrewq23,
I can confirm that 40Y8725 is the correct Ultrabay adapter for a hard drive in a T61p.

Re: t61p - 2nd hdd in ultrabay
All clear - thanks for help very much;)
And by the way - you are experienced users of TP so maybe have you any generaly important advices about TP61p (6460-6XG)? - I read that this model has problems with MOBO and dual ram in some aplications/programs? And what about this high-tone sound from laptop during working in high performance mode? Is there any way to fix it?
Additionaly, I'm going to change lenovo 2x1GB ram to 4GB - I'm watching Kingston HyperX 2x2GB - it's a good choice or should I check the other ones? Will they be compatibled with t61p?

1. T61(p) series with nVidia graphics tend to have gpu issues over time (overheating, failure etc.), so it would be good idea to extend the laptop warranty.poiuytrewq23 wrote:And by the way - you are experienced users of TP so maybe have you any generaly important advices about TP61p (6460-6XG)? - I read that this model has problems with MOBO and dual ram in some aplications/programs? 2. I believe there is a fix for the dual RAM problem (I´ll add a link when I find it)
3. Get some "standard" laptop memory and forget the HyperX
Hope this helps,
Marin

ok, thanks for advices;)
I've got one more question - Does hot-swap function work in ultrabay? Can I remove DVD drive and insert the adapter while the machine is running?

Re: t61p - 2nd hdd in ultrabay
Hot swapping works in general. However, sometimes it is not possible if some files are locked for whatever reasons.
