I learned that the T43 series introduced a bios whiteliste for hdds. Is this also true for T60 series? Or can I just buy any sata 2,5 inch hdd and plug it in? I want to use standard hdd connector and do not want to put the hdd in the optional bay hdd connector. Thanks!

Yes, any 2.5" SATA laptop hard drive will work in a T60 without error or BIOS whitelist.

Not any. Some 2.5" SATA laptop hard drive is
12.5mm thick. You won't be able to physically fit them in T60.
All the other 9.5mm thick 2.5" SATA hard drives will work.
