Silent T42 vs T60 Flexview model comparision

#1 Post by ssd_thinkpad » Fri Mar 20, 2009 3:50 am

I'd buy either a T42 or a T60 X1300 Flexview model and need your opinions on how they are different regarding things you can not upgrade. As much as I found out:
- T60 has better battery life
- T60 with x1300 GPU is cooler than T42
- T60 is available with WWAN or at least WWAN ready on some models
- T42 is lighter than T60

Small technical differences
- T60 sata vs T42 pata
- T60 docking and battery compatible to modern Txx series vs T42 is not compatible

What are the other differences?

I'm not sure about T60 with X1300 running cooler than T42 with Radeon 9600...unless the CPU in T42 is PM765, my bet would be that T42 will run cooler.

The biggest two advantages that T60 has are the lack of GPU problems, and Core Duo CPU/SATA drive combination.

Everything depends on what you're going to be using the machine for. In today's day and age, T60 is probably a safer bet overall.
