comm problem

#1 Post by henrym » Fri Mar 27, 2009 3:55 pm

We had a day without a cable signal and after it was restored I must “repair” the connection every few minutes in order to get on the internet. Email is also affected. However, the other two computers in the house are unaffected. I’m not sure if I changed any settings during the outage thinking it was something wrong with my computer, but I’m wondering if anyone can tell me what the settings should be?
Thanks
Henry

Odd, but if you did change anything, make sure the wireless card is set for "Max performance" not "max battery performance".

Where would I find that? I did not have to plug in any cards. I found a utility in the Thinkvantage menu that said wireless. Within that there was a “select location profile.” That connected me to the wireless so I don’t get a drop off but the speed is more than one half less and it does not seem to be using the windows program now.
