I just upgraded my SATA drive to a Hitachi 7200 rpm disk (HTS722020K9SA00) for better performance. It works great, passes all SMART tests, and drive fitness tests. BUT, Whenever I run chkdsk c: /f, I get this message. Any ideas???

The type of the file system is NTFS.
Volume label is Preload.

WARNING! F parameter not specified.
Running CHKDSK in read-only mode.

CHKDSK is verifying files (stage 1 of 3)...

No reason to worry about HDD.
This indicates, that you have some small inconsistency in NTFS file system on C: partition.
Probably you run chkdsk without /f parameter, and chkdsk can't fix it.

Any ideas on this one? I just RMA'd the disk and reloaded from the recovery CD's from scratch. I still have the same problem. Of note this drive is NOT OE. It is a Hitachi HTS722020K9SA00.

Check disk will not fix the problem either. It will keep coming back, or just error out of the repair process.

If you use Kapersky it could be your answer.
