I am wanting to swap out my combo cd burner dvd player combo drive for a dvd burner. I found a good price on a 39T2507 drive from a T42p. Could anyone tell me if this drive should work okay? What is the cons of using this drive compared to a real t61 dvd burner?

Welcome to the forum!

This drive has a curved bezel instead of a flat bezel. The downside is only cosmetic. It should work perfectly though not as fast as the T61 specified DVD-RW.
