Received my Scratch 'n' Dent 6 cell battery for my T61p today. Zero cycles and 56.2 Wh charge capacity - ie BRAND NEW! The battery was $37 (list is $159). I used to send my batteries to BatteryRefill.com but they are so unreliable now and their refills don't seem to last as long as the OEM batteries.

Great to hear :) . My "scratched and dented" T4x series 9 cell battery just came two days ago, in the same new/unused/perfect condition. My T41 and T42 (both with new R51 system boards to fix the gpu problem) love the extra power.

I want to pick up a new battery for a used T60 I have on the way to me. I'm new to the T6x series. Do you know if the Part Number: CA51J0468 would be the correct choice? I'm assuming that's the one you're speaking of?

Thanks.

Yes, that's the 6 cell battery for the T6x. I think they use a different part number so that it won't eat too many sales from their "new" batteries (with a different part number)!

I'm on the phone with Lenovo right now. I ordered a scratch and dent battery from them two weeks ago, but haven't heard a word since. Glad yours worked out. It's a heck of deal if you can get one. I hope mind turns out as well.

Thanks for the info. Now I just need to decide on the 6c or 9c.

Update on my T4x 9c battery: I checked the battery info and it reported 1 cycle (the one I charged it with) and excellent Wh capacity. I did have one issue- after drawing down that charge, it refused to charge beyond 45%. It's on a "reconditioning" cycle right now and is at 58% already, so I think it'll be fine.

Thanks again!

btw: My battery was delivered in just under a week after placing the order.

I also ordered a 6 and 9 cell batteries for my T61 from this scratch and dent sale and should have them soon. How do I check how fresh the batteries are?

Thanks,
SJ

Open the ThinkVantage Power Manager and click on the battery tab. It will show manufacture date, date of first use, #/cycles, etc.

Just received a X61s scratch and dent battery. A total of 7 days to be delivered from Lenovo. 1 cycle on it, looks brand new, manufacture date of 12/2008.

The cycle count of my battery is 34, Mfd. in Oct. 2008 and first use 03-09 when I recd. it from Lenovo. What does the cycle count represent? Is it the number of times a battery has been charged? I normally turn OFF the AC power once the battery reaches 100% charge. Thanks.
