Annoying hourglass when system idle...

#1 Post by peterh » Mon Apr 13, 2009 1:41 pm

I am still loving my new T61p (upgraded!).

However, when the system is idle (when I am reading some text, or trying to find a nice route in my CAD software) - every so often the mouse pointer will change to an hourglass for a few seconds...

I started the Windows task manager and waited...

Just when the hourglass appears, a new task is started: PWMIDTSK.EXE

It is VERY annoying and off-putting

Any kind soul out there know how to stop this behaviour?

Yours,
Peter

Many thanks for the tip.

I opened up 'Scheduled Tasks' and deleted the 'idle' task.

No more hourglass...

Peter
