Sometimes it works fine. Undock at home. Suspend. Resume in office. Dock. Do work.
Othertimes, every time I undock, regardless of how (hard yank, Fn+F9, hardware undock button), it reverts to lo-res. I don't even have to remove it when using the undock button or Fn+F9. It does the logical undock and the resolution changes on the external display.
I've updated all drivers and firmware every time new versions have come out. My support person found the display drivers manually on the NVIDIA site - I think it was - and updated them. There are no messages in the event log. When it's in this mode, it's as if it doesn't know what monitor is connected (external or internal) and thus reverts to the lowest common denominator.
I found other discussions describing similar experiences, but none seems to have a solution.
I really dislike this laptop.
