Friend asked me to look at his T60P.
When using the laptop when plugged in the screen is nice and bright. But as soon as you unplug it the screen brightness goes down like 1 or 2 notches.
It's not like this on any of the other thinkpad i have had.
Just this T60P.
Is there a way to set the LCD brightness to high all the time.Battery or ac adapter?
I have looked in all the power settings and cant find anything.

I have searched this forum a little and can't find the answer.

It must be something simple that i'm just missing.

It's a setting in the BIOS.

Thanks.
I knew it was something simple.....
I looked in the BIOS and set the Display brightness to High .
This is the way my friend likes it.He can turn it down when he wants too.

If he has Lenovo's power manager installed, it has display brightness settings for AC power and for battery, which can be different depending on which power profile he has selected. Click on the battery icon in the taskbar to open it.

Actually, all Thinkpads (and all laptops) should do this if they are set up correctly. The dimming of the screen is a power saving feature when the laptop is running on battery alone. Of course, you can increase the brightness in power manager to whatever you care for - even almost as bright as when running on AC. You just take a hit on battery life.
