I am using a T61.
I tried to use rescue and recovery to make a backup. The program started copying files to or from (I'm not sure) the service v002 partition. The partition is now 6972 MB. Does that sound right or has R&R copied files to this partition. If it has, how do I delete them? It shows that I have no backups?
I have tried a windows restore and that did not change the size of the partition.
BTW, R&R just stalled and did not respond after it copied these files. I had to end the program through Start task Manager.
Thanks,
Gary
Service Partition
Re: Service Partition
To the best of my knowledge, R&R backups are stored in your Windows C: partition in a hidden folder C:\rrbackups\. You can access this folder from Windows SAFE MODE.
The Service Partition contains everything to restore the operating system and factory software to your C: partition (it erases the C: partition and overwrites it, installing the os and software). The size of the service partition should not change from what you see now.
