Ultrabay battery failure... need some help!

The Ultrabay battery for my T61p failed this morning. No advance warning. All of a sudden I'm getting an error message that says, "A battery error has occurred. The battery cannot recharge. Please replace the battery."
This battery is exactly one year old tomorrow. I ordered it on April 26, 2008, and it arrived 2 days later on the 28th.
My questions:
- Is this sort of unwarned battery failure normal? Esp. after just less than one year?
- Can anything be done short of purchasing a new Ultrabay battery?
- Can I claim this under the one-year warranty period for batteries? If so,what is the process for doing so?

Call Lenovo tech support QUICK! (ie NOW!)
The battery should be repalced under warranty but if you go a day over that, you may be SOL!

I just spoke with Katie down in their Atlanta Service Center and they'll be shipping me a new Ultrabay battery right away.

Follow-up on Ultrabay battery failure situation

Just thought I would follow-up with everyone here to let you all know the great customer service I received from Lenovo. Late yesterday I spoke with Katie M from their Atlanta Service Center. She was very helpful and the process went much faster and more smoothly than I expected. They have already shipped that new battery to me and it should be here tomorrow. Great customer service!

Just to bring this topic to a close: Katie from the Lenovo Service Center in Atlanta had the new battery shipped to me within minutes of my finishing the phone call with her. Less than 14 hours from my calling her with the warranty problem the new battery was in my hands and ready to charge in my laptop. Amazing customer service! I'm a very happy customer. Kudos to Katie and Lenovo.
