sierrawireless wwan module i salvaged from a usb wwan dongle... 881 it works in the usb device but my laptop doesnt recognize it... no errors no driver install nothing....

specs are t60 w/firegl 5200 - t7600 - 2gig ram - 500g hd -xp pro 32bit -fingerprint reader - bluetooth -ibm atheros agn wlan - and of course sierra wireless 881 embeded module .... stock 2.25 bios

i havent installed the sim card slot and the antennae yet due to shipping issues and was thinking that was the issue.... mabey the sim slot "activates" the wwan module? but in most devices it would simply say no sim inserted... checked the bios and it reads wwan enabled...

any insight greatly appreciated

MIKE

The BIOS is powering off the WWAN GSM card because it is not "white-listed", i.e., it is not a Lenovo-branded version. The solution is to use a modified BIOS, plus tape Pin-20 of the card.
