Hello,

What is the maximum external resolution supported by the nvidia quadro fx 570m with 256 MB RAM that comes with the T61p 15.4"? I'm thinking of adding a 24" wides screen (WUXGA) monitor that has a native res. of 1920 x 1200 and not sure if it will support this natively (without the use of a dock).

Thanks!

Your T61p will work fine with the 24" WUXGA monitor connected via VGA (assuming your monitor has that input). However, you may still want to look for an Advanced (Mini) Dock to get DVI connectivity.

We have a Sharp Aquios 65" LCD TV at my work in the conference room, and I plugged my T61p into it over the external VGA, and the best I could get for resolution was 1365x768. I even tried to set custom resolutions that were higher than that using the Nvidia utility, but you would click the 'test' button and they would fail. Highest achievable was 1365x768. I might get a mini-dock so I can do the DVI at hopefully native resolution.

Many LCD TVs have a limitation on the maximum resolutions they can receive via VGA. With DVI it may indeed be different.
