"HArdware compatability"- T60 14.1 ->T400 14.1 screen mod

T60 14.1 ->T400 14.1 heres the deal, I want to get the T400 14.1 screen enclosure and put it onto my t60.... i looked at the support section for both but cant get a good look at the actual parts...
the new antenna setup is nice

if anyone has access to both units and wouldnt mind "tinkering" a little bit. i'd like to see what lines up and what doesnt...

i want to keep my sxga+ screen but put it into the t400screen housing as well

another question.... would the firegl5200 mobo support the same T400 lcd connector and thus the camera? or is it bios dependant?. .. basically a full retro fit...

How do you plan to put a SXGA+ 4:3 screen into a widescreen notebook?

Especially for questions of this kind, it is important to give us the 7-character TYPE numbers of the machine(s) involved.
If it's an xxxx-CTO you also need to give the relevant specs (like screen size/resolution in this case) etc.

my computer started out as a 2007-cl7.... i was trying to find a new non-widescreen t- series that would accomodate the wimax, abgn, wwan/gps anennae configuration....

Based on 2007-G3U: T2400(1.83GHz), 2GB RAM, 60GB 7200rpm HD, 14.1in 1400x1050 LCD, 128MB ATI Radeon X1400, CDRW/DVD, Intel 802.11abg wireless, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure chip, 6c Li-Ion batt, WinXP Pro

so what i have now with all current mods is

T7600(2.33ghz), 2gb ram, 500gb 5400rpm hd, 14.1in 1400x1050 lcd, 256mb ati fire gl v5200,
dvd+-rw/cdrw, atheros 802.11abgn wireless,


trying to find a similar physical dimensions with scree housings that are interchangeable

The best you can do is a T61/p 14.1" 4:3. And, the 14.1" T61/p motherboard will fit in your existing case.

That, along with the X61, are the last 4:3 ThinkPads. Everything with a three digit series number is 16:10.

so would my motherboard accept the lcd cable/bluetooth/camera from the t61? and is the hinge position the same distance and setup from the t60 14.1 to the t61 14.1 ?

anyony have a t60 and t61 to test on ? or measure..... gunna start ordering parts friday....
