Stupid T61 question... can a Core 2 Quad function?

I've done some searching, and I've not yet found anyone that's tried it on any GM/PM965-based machine. I've found people saying it won't work, but then again, I recall reading that the QXGA screen "wouldn't work" in a T60, and we all know how that one turned out. (I'm actually going to be replacing my X61 Tablet with a T60 just to go to QXGA.)
So, if one were to put a Core 2 Quad into a T61/p motherboard, would it boot?
If it would boot, would all four cores be usable?
If so, would it be stuck at a low SpeedStep speed, or would they run at something faster?
I'm fully aware that they would run at (at best) 1.5 GHz (for the 2.0 GHz Q9000,) 1.7 GHz (for the 2.26 GHz Q9100,) or 1.9 GHz (for the 2.53 GHz QX9300,) if they would run at all, but my question is whether it WOULD work. The underclock (and an undervolt to go with it) could actually get it to fit nicely in the 35 W maximum TDP of the T6x chassis, while giving more cores.
