Bluescreens after reinstall...

Hi,

I have a thinkpad t60 (2007-fvg). I did its first reinstall a while back and it seemed to go well. However, after a few days I had a bluescreen, and then again a few days later. The bluescrrens can be a few hours apart or a few days.

I reinstalled from a OEM didsk I had around, did all the updates and installed all the drivers and it was fine, 3 weeks without a bluescreen, I have even put windows 7 on and its great.

So it seems that my problem is the recovery partition.

I still have the original COA on the bottom of the laptop, so is there any way of getting a legitimate copy of windows back on it...without having to splash the cash?

Whats the error code on the bluescreen, or does it list any driver/file name info on the blue screen?

If you mean an original IBM/Lenovo image (from recovery CDs) you would have to buy the recovery CDs ($45 from Lenovo or maybe $15-20 on fleabay). Or you could get an OEM Microsoft disk, (~$100 new or less used) and download the drivers and other software again (but that seems to have worked - not sure why this isn't sufficient).
