I believe it is, but I'm not so sharp on all these numbers.
I have an LCD panel, SXGA+. It's a bit dimmer than my other LCds but I am told this is par for the course for flexview panels. It's still quite usable. It appears to have great viewing angles. FRU# 13N7078. Could someone kindly confirm whether this is flexview or not? The IBM documentation seems to indicate it is, but again, I could be confused.
This is the same laptop for sale in my marketplace thread if anyone is interested, SXGA version with Core 2 duo.
Is this part number a flexview display?
Re: Is this part number a flexview display?
Nothing can confirm it as well as viewing angles (vertical) can. Part numbers can be wrong, confusing, inaccurate. Vertical viewing angles are a 100% proof.
All 15" SXGA+/UXGA screens in T60 units were Flexview. The only ways a non-Flexview would find its way there is if the owner disassembled the laptop and replaced it.

Re: Is this part number a flexview display?
It's got the viewing angles, but sometimes I just don't trust my eyes as much as a part number. Bad vision to begin with and all, haha.
Anyhow, thanks. That pretty much answers my question.

Re: Is this part number a flexview display?
I do understand you.
Someone who does not have experience or has not given it much thought may not know which things to look for.
But if you, even once, have seen a TN screen side by side with an IPS screen, and examined them from different angles, rest assured, that you will always be able to tell then apart, even if you are legally blind.

Re: Is this part number a flexview display?
According to this thread flexview should show up in Device Manager->Monitor:
