Anyone using a USB KVM switch with T6x and Advanced Mini Doc

Hi
Please don't flame because I did search but could not find much info on this. I have a T61 and a Advanced Mini Dock and want to share my 24" lcd with a Mac mini that I acquired. I have an Iogear but it's PS2 and this worked with my previous T43 setup but since I no longer have the PS2 peripherals, I need to get a new KVM that uses only USB.

Anyone here having the same issue as me?

TIA.

I hate to tell you, but you just missed a sale at RadioShack for one from TrendNet @ $10. It was on sale a few months earlier for the same price.

Have you used this particular model?

I'm afraid not. However, it's somewhat of a brand and hard to resist when $10. I'd have take a chance last week if I needed a 2 system KVM switch right now.

Well, if you are a fan of IOGEAR, I use an IOGEAR DVI, Miniview 4 port USB KVMP switch. It's a great little KVM and has worked flawlessly with every model Thinkpad, Dock (I have 3 Advanced Mini Docks), and Thinkcentre I've used. Cooincidentally I am receiving a new Mac mini tomorrow, so I can report on that as well. Stay tuned.

Here's a newer model -

Hi Harryc,
I'm not really picky. I just wanted something that was not too expensive and do the job:) I'll look into getting that one from amazon.

Good choice. It also looks like a Mac Mini :).

Ouch at the prices, but those look like good products.

I have the older model. I think it's worth it when you think about what it can do. It has a built in 2 port powered USB hub, so it lets you share (2) USB devices between (4) machines. I share a scanner and a printer in addition to the keyboard, mouse, and LCD. Also it lets you selectively share audio, the KVM, and the USB hub. In other words I can start windows media player on one machine, and leave audio there (so it is heard) and then switch to another machine while I am listening to that audio. Same with USB, I can start a print job, switch to another machine and have that print job complete. The reverse also works, I can be on one machine and just bring in audio from another as an example. It's really kind of a nice feature ... I am not sure if the newer model has that. The price of the older model also includes (4) very heavy duty peripheral hookup cables. The quality is top notch. I think the newer model comes with (2) cables.

Received the Mac Mini, it works just fine with the KVM.

Just curious, which Thinkpad are you using with this?

Ok, lets see. I've used 600X's, 770Z's, T21's, T22,s, T23's, T30's, X31's, X32's, T40's, T41's, X40's, X41's, T42's, T43's, R50's, R50P's, R51's, R52's, T60's, T60P's, T61's, T61P's, X61S's, X200S's, T400's....possibly some others I've forgotten. Currently I am using all of the machines in my sig plus a work T60. I could also list the docks that work with the KVM if you are interested.

Wow! I was actually just more concerned with my T61 and I see you have a T60p so in theory this KVM should work fine.

Thanks again!
