Turn off screen on T61, with laptop running?

Hi,

I'd like to find a way to turn off the display on my T61. I travel from time to time and need to leave the laptop on to download files during the night in my hotel room, but I can't sleep with the screen on, even at minimal luminosity. The ThinkVantage "presentation manager" is a bit too smart, and doesn't allow the display to go black if no screen is attached. The default Windows XP doesn't care about that and that's what I used on my previous laptop.

Thank you,

JD

Normally I believe Fn+F3 should turn off the display backlight. Press Fn to turn it back on. It works like this on my T42 with XP. Doesn't work with Vista though (no Lenovo display driver for the T42).

I believe for this to work, you need to be using the Lenovo display drivers, ACPI Power Management driver, and Hotkey driver.

Ah, that seems to work very well indeed. Thank you!
