Migrating from an A21p to new T60p

Migrating from an A21p to new T60p. T60p has an installed XP Pro, as does the A21p. Have searched this and other databases for directions on migrating applications and data from old computer to new computer, but still uncertain as to how to proceed. Are there newer utilities to do this easily and safely? A fresh install of applications is not an option and would prefer using the new XP rather than transferring the old XP to new machine. I have a desktop network if that is needed in any possible solutions.

When I made the same migration a couple of years ago there weren't any utilities that could migrate all of my applications so I too would be interested in the answer to your question. As for the second sentence I don't know why you can't reinstall. Sure, it's time-consuming, but it's also a good opportunity to do some housecleaning. When I did it I only reinstalled those applications that I knew I wanted to keep. The rest stayed on the A21p, most never to be migrated.

It may not be perfect, but the Windows Files and Settings Transfer Wizard will do a fairly good job. It doesn't install applications for you, of course, but sets your new machine up with the feel of your old one (settings), and copies your files.
