Wireless Blinks Constantly when T60 is idle? Help!

So, the wireless icon on my T60 blinks constantly when the computer is idle (like when I back it up each night). Clicking on the wireless status shows that packets seem to be coming in/going out.

What on earth is my T60 doing?

First the obvious:
1. No dirty pictures, No filesharing, no illegal programs, no illegal music, no cracks, etc. This is a pure work/research machine.
2. No hidden annoying installers (unless Lenovo has one)
3. Virus checked a half dozen ways, and comes out clean every time
4. No obvious junk processes in process explorer.

What could my T60 be talking to? Is there a program I can download to monitor its wifi transmissions and figure out who/what it is talking to?

I have worked SO HARD to keep this machine clean and above board, I really hope it doesn't have something sneaky.

Thanks,

I always use Wireshark to monitor network traffic. There may be some simplier tools, that's just one I know.

This is a perfectly normal characteristic of the wireless system. There is nothing wrong, nor is their anything negative "going on". If you are bothered by the light simply turn the system off when you are not using it.
