id like to upgrade this t60 14.1 model to the sxga+(1400x1050) panel. is it as simple as an lcd swap? or do i also need the ribbon cable? and this model has integrated video chipset(intel 945 gma), is that a problem?

going off the service manual:

LCD Cable Assembly without Bluetooth- same LCD cable assembly is used for the xga, and sxga+ panels, so i guess that means i dont need to swap out the lcd cable.
FRU# 91P6982

LCD Panel 14.1 SXGA+: Samsung
FRU# 13N7059
goes on ebay for ~$130

If you are not familiar with the process, be careful. The panels are easy to damage. Also, sometimes sellers advertise T4x panels as being compatible with T60s. They are not. Some don't have the eeprom that contains the screen parameters, and you can actually cause motherboard failure with incompatible panels.

There are three different FRUs that the Hardware Maintenance Manual lists, there may be more that aren't listed, though.

13N7059 - Samsung - so the one you're looking at should be correct out of the box.
13N7061 - BOE-Hydis
13N7063 - TMD
