I need your help

#1 Post by kristensen » Sun Jun 21, 2009 1:26 pm

Hello,

Since 2 days my thinkpad work very bad and now no more. It starts 2 days ago. It becames very but very hot and it reboot by itself. After that, a lot of problems appear. No more wifi, no more sound, no more usb ports, no more fingerprint.

I start lenovo system toolbox and the strange is, that every peripheral like audio, wireless, hdd, described like peripheral bus pci, are deactivated.

If i try to start my wifi, my system says that my wifi is not installed. And the same thing for audio, usb ports, and also my hdd.

peripheral bus pci are deacivated, all drivers described like that are deactivated.

Now bad thing, i try to acces to rescue and recovery before windows starts but it s impossible. It asks me for fingerprint password and my systems says that my fingerprint is not installed...

I had a bad idea after that, i went to bios and i press erase hdd and now everything in my hdd is completely erased.

I need help to recover everything, even if it s just factory recover.

Any ideas ? Thankx for all.

My T60 is still under warranty.

I recommend you call Lenovo and order a set of recovery CD's for your computer. They will cost a small amount, but are well worth the price. When you get them, recover from these CD's and call Lenovo support if you have difficulty. ... JDH

I agree with jdhurst. If the machine won't recover due to problems using official Lenovo recovery media, then whatever problem it is, is not your concern if it is under warranty. Let Lenovo deal with it.

First I would run diagnostics from the PC Doctor for DOS bootable CD - ThinkPad to rule out any hardware failure.
