Interesting, indeed. I've temporarily moved the OP's other thread with the T40 circuit schematic out of sight as it's marked "IBM CONFIDENTIAL". From reading that thread, this one and the blog site, it appears that the OP has some access to factory information which may or may not be releasable to the public. I'm in the process of getting an official stance on the dissemination of this data. Don't get me wrong; I'd love to see the schematic diagrams for all of the systems in my .sig but if they are still covered by some NDA between IBM/Lenovo and the manufacturing site, then we need to abide by that.

As such, I'm locking this thread and also editing the URLs.

sadly, forum.thinkpads.com can not allow the posting of IBM Confidential schematics..
we have askd for and received a ruling on this from lenovo..

while they also observed that we can not stop a forum member from posting a link to the schematic it might be wise for the poster not to do so since lenovo would probably trace it down and put an abrupt end to it..

therefore this topic must remain locked..

aside:
if it were up to me i would allow the schmatics to be available..
it would help the brand i believe..

Another vote for releasing schematics, although I would limit it to "withdrawn" or "obsolete" systems. That way it helps out hobbyist / DIYers with problems that the factory can't or won't support any more.
