what is the brightest 15" IPS screen I can buy for my T60?

#1 Post by wild_bill » Mon Jul 06, 2009 2:06 pm

I currently have the 15" Philips 4:3 IPS Flexview SXGA+ LCD that came with my T60, although this computer does not have that many hours, it is becoming dim and yellowed, the computer is out of warranty, so I want to replace it with either another SXGA+ or a UXGA screen, either would suit me fine.

what are the brands (OEM'S) of new LCD screens in these two resolutions that you have experience with, that are available to purchase on ebay or elsewhere online and will fit my non-widescreen T60?

which is the prettiest & the brightest and the cheapest place to buy it?

(yes, I realize there is a sticky thread that partially addresses this question, but it is about 2 years old, I am looking for current info)

All 15" IPS OEM displays for the ThinkPads except for the QXGA are 200 nits brightness. (The QXGA panel is 150 nits.)

Beyond that (other than the IAQX10 and IAQX10N, which are also 150 nits, just different versions of the QXGA panel,) I don't know.

OK, change my original question to:

Does anyone know what is the lowest cost source where I can get a new first quality Boe-Hydis 15" UXGA screen? (p/n 13N7076)

$200+ seems a bit high for this, I want to find a bargain source!

When you find a bargain source, let me know by all means... 8)

Contact them to see if theirs is new, their Google Products result says it is, but the page says nothing about whether it's new, refurbished, or used: http://www.yallstore.com/laptop-screen- ... 10389.html

Or, I'll send you a PM...

Given the pricing and wording, that sounds like it's used ... eg.: "Condition: each one was shipped before test" (I think they got it backwards and meant, each is tested before ship).

The IPS screens on the T60 and T43 all shipped 200 nits. You can upgrade to the W700 to get 400 nits, though of course it's not IPS.
