Poor perfomance vista index in T61p

Hi all,

Dunno if vista performance index is a good parameter to campare our machines, but still...

I have T61p (6459-CTO) with T7500 and 4GB DDR2-5300 RAM and Nvidia FX-570 256MN with vista buisness 64-bit running. HDD is a factory one (160GB). I just run the vista performance check and I'm a bit surpised (negatively). The graphic seems to be of good performance (5.9 for 2D desktop and 5.5 for 3D), but HDD transfer is quire poor (4.7) and RAM as well (4.8 ). My colleague with very similar configuration and 2GB Ram only is getting 5.2 for HDD (same one as mine) and 5.4 for RAM respectively... where is the bottleneck in my machine?

I checked out the BIOS settings and SATA controller settings.. seems to be OK.
Any ideas how to improve HDD and RAM transfers?

Ignore that silly thing. It's mostly marketing hype to get you to buy something else from Microsoft or one of their "partners". Spend your money more RAM, or a solid state hard drive (if you are a "speed addict" like me) and that will get you some -real world- improvements.
