What happens if I close the lid?

What happens if I close the lid?

I have a T60. Last night I booted off a CD with DBAN on it to securely erase a hard drive. It is taking much longer than expected, and will require a couple more days to finish. I was curious as to what would happen if I close the lid? Would the T60 go into sleep mode, or would DBAN keep running?

Most likely unless you have changed the default setting, your ThinkPad is set to go into standby.
