T61p FAulty Memory -> New RAM

My T61p produced random BSOD messages one month after the installation of my WD Scorpio Blue. Initially, I thought it was a hard drive and/or driver problem. Yesterday, I noticed that Lenovo's version of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager did not successfully install AHCI SATA controller. Therefore, I went to Intel's website and installed the Intel Matrix Storage Manager from there. I ran my computer with Windows Media Player running all night and no BSOD's. Today however, while just casually surfing the net, BSOD!!! I took action and ran memtest and found errors. It said something about not being able to store data into memory between 60b6c8 & 60b401. At this point, I still wasn't sure if the culprit of the problem was faulty memory or driver-related. I then booted my system in safemode and ran memtest again. My system randomly rebooted (No BSOD). Right now, I'm thinking this has to be faulty memory since 1) This problem occurred 1 month after the new HD installation 2) My machine is free of viruses/malware/etc.

I'm thinking of testing my system with my old hard drive. At this point though, I'm really thinking that it has to be faulty memory. Any thoughts?

If it is faulty memory, I'm leaning towards buying Crucial PC2-5300 CL5 667 Mhz. Crucial has PC2-6400 that has CL6 at 800 Mhz. Browsing through Newegg, I cound that OCZ has a PC2-6400 800 Mhz at CL5. I haven't checked any benchmarks yet to compare the OCZ memory to the Crucial ones. Theoretically, the OCZ memory should be better right considering it has a CL of 5?

Here's the link to the newegg OCZ page: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820227250

Thanks in advance!

I would use Crucial PC2-5300 in that machine. If Memtest throws an error, it is not driver related, you have a bad module.
