Hello Real Trouble With My T60

i Loaned my laptop to a family member never again will i make that mistake its to costly. Now my problem is That i plug the O.G. charger in the laptop and the laptop will only boot up for a few seconds then it turns off. help please i don't know what to do. with the battery not charged or i can not charge it since the only light that turns on is the one shows its pluged in. but with battery on the laptop then once i plug it in the battery light turns on then its off so i think no charging is happening. what to do. i took the whole thing apart to check the fused but nothing to sight seems to be burn't . doe's any one have pointers

Did the family member say what happened? Some of the T60 machines still have warranty. Does yours? As long as you didn't screw something up taking it apart or lose screws, or the family member didn't spill into it or drop it, they will fix it. Immediate shutdown sounds like blown motherboard. Machines that were spilled into act like that.

This is what i was told they had plugged it in once the battery started to go low. So i Took it on my own self to inspect it for any type of liquid damage or anything else & there was nothing i can see I Even Took out the VOM to test the fuses they all test good. So Im Thinking it 's the MotherBoard anyome have a power diagram

Have you tried starting the laptop with the battery physically taken out? I mean with just the power cord.

And do check your warranty status as richk suggested. Follow this link:
