Bizarre Keyboard key problem.

Recently a strange behaviour started happening on my T61.
If I press the x key (in Firefox or any other program) having a Windows explorer window opened, it would take me to the Explorer window and the letter x off course will not be written. The solution is to close the explorer but this is not really a fix, what could it be.
