Thinkpad t60 lcd bright spots??

I picked up a broken thinkpad t60 at the thrift store about 3 weeks ago. The lcd was cracked and the hard drive was remove (it was from paypal 
). I bought a replacement lcd off ebay (from screenaid) and for the first day or two it was fine. I then noticed a small bright spot near the center of the screen after about 4 days. It was nothing bad and only visible with darker images. Now after about 2 weeks there are about 5 such spots all near the center on a horizontal line (but spread out vertically). I know the t21 was prone to problems like this from the lcd housing pressing on the back of the lcd but figured the t60 would be immune to this due to the flat/smooth back. Did I just get a bad lcd or is this common for t60's?? I'm at work now but later I can post photos later if needed.
Also did lenovo ever make a German keyboard for this laptop? (I have a uk one now)
