Screen resolution always reset to lower than native

#1 Post by Steve06 » Thu Aug 20, 2009 12:21 pm

Hi,
I face the following problem: Every time I restart my machine from hibernation (or after a shut down or normal restart) the screen resolution under Vista is lower than native, and I have to switch back to the native resolution through the Thinkvantage presentation director manually.
This happens when my notebook is NOT connected to an external screen. When it is connected to my Eizo via DVI, the correct screen profile always stays enabled.
Any suggestions how to fix this?

Your problem may lie with the ATI Hotkey Poller service. Disabling this stopped my issues with screen resolution when closing the lid. However, keep in mind that disabling this service stops your ATI Powerplay function from working, meaning that you will experience slightly less battery life. I'm still getting decent runtimes from my batteries, so I'm not too worried about it.
