Thinkvantage Fingerprint software settings

#1 Post by Atticaris » Wed Aug 26, 2009 9:12 pm

Hi, I just received my T61 and it is fantastic I love this system.
I was going through all the drivers and installing them and when I was configuring the Thinkvantage fingerprint software, it let me set my fingerprints and I can log into windows by swiping my finger, but when I open the software it won't let me click on the Fingerprints or Settings on the menu. It opens up the tutorial when I click Tutorial but nothing happens when I click Settings/Fingerprints.

I uninstalled and reinstalled several times with the same effect, installed 5.6 and upgraded to 5.8 but same thing.

Anyone had the same problem or know how I can access the settings options in the FP software?

Also how do I activate the middle button between the left and right click when using the trackpoint? I read you can use it for scrolling pages.

edit: I'm also on my administrator account and using Windows XP so validating to administrator settings in Vista does not apply to me.

Thanks

this might sound a little silly, but... did you try clicking on the text just below the button (e.g., "settings") as opposed to the center of the button itself? i find that i have to click low on that button (pretty much right on top of the text) before the software recognizes it. probably not your problem but just a thought...

Yes I tried clicking on the text, the arrows and everywhere around it. The text is actually blacked out while the Tutorial text will turn highlight blue when I hover over it. There is a similar post on the internet that is having the same problem but he solved it by disabling some security options in Internet Explorer and I tried tinkering with some of the options in IE but no luck yet.
