one day, i noticed that my LCD screen had a orange-ish hue to it when i turned it on. i just ignored it for a bit, but later on it began making a hissing noise.
after reading through some threads, i thought it might possibly be my inverter.
i ordered a new inverter, and replaced it.
the hissing still continued, and somehow during the replacement, i must've damaged the LCD itself because the screen is now hemorrhaging on one side.

video coming in a sec, but what are my options now?
my warranty has been up for a while. is it still possible to send it in to lenovo and get it fixed for a fee?
if i buy a entire replacement Lid will that fix it? or is it possibly a motherboard issue and i'm SOL?

it's a T61 SXGA+ 1400x1050.




let me describe the video a little bit.
i can turn on laptop, it hisses and the screen is broken, but it still boots. it goes through the normal windows startup and then shuts off by itself (the screen). if i close the lid, and open it again , the screen comes up again for a few seconds, then hisses and shuts off by itself again. i'm typing this on the very same laptop, but i have an external monitor plugged in as the primary screen.

If the screen is orange or red at startup, the bulb is bad. You didn't hurt anything - it was bad already. You need a panel.

ok, no video because the file size was 900mb and i upload at like 14kb.... so yeah.

is there a reputable place to buy replacement lids besides ebay?
i have the standard screen so its gonna be more rare

dam, my screen is clearly cracked and they don't carry a replacement LCD for 14.1'' SXGA 1400x1050 ><.

i think i'm left w/ the option of buying a new replacement LCD.

i've dealt with acsparts in the past and had good experiences, but they are asking for more than double of the first vendor.
im a little worried how the first vendor can sell it for so cheap, are the parts identical or is it some cheap imitation that is compatible? anyone have some experience w/ any of the first two vendors?
