Cannot install Olympus Camedia Master on T61.

I get error "Unhandled Exception: Error Number: 0x80040707. Description: DLL Function Call crashed. Mfcdll.CheckQTVer. Setup will now terminate.", when I try to install Olympus Camedia Master on my newly re-imaged T61. I just re-installed the OS image from the XP CD's I received from Lenovo (replacing Vista!).

When I was updating to Internet Explorer v8, I received a message about something "Not being copatible with IEv8..., and did I want to disable it?" Well, I said yes. And I believe it was "Sonic DLA", or something related to it. From reading several threads, I see a lot of people uninstalling Sonic DLA. Could this be my problem?

When I originally down-graded to Windows XP I had no problems running this Photo software for my Olympus digital camera. I suspect some of the upgrades, eg, IEv8, may have indirectly caused this to happen. Please let me know if I need to provide more information. I appreciate anything you can assist me with.

Thank you.

Thank you. After installing latest Quicktime software Camedia Master installed & worked fine. However, as part of the test, I tried to play a movie from the Quicktime web-site, and I get an error stating, "Quicktime not installed. Free Download." Just as a lark, I clicked the link and re-installed. Even after a reboot, same error.

I thought it may be because I didn't let Quicktime be the default player, so I tried to change the preferences to make it default player for streaming video. Didn't help. Appreciate any guidence. Oh, when I selected Quicktime initially, I chose the "i-Tunes plus Quicktime" download. Is it just me, or are all Thinkpads incredibly finicky with every driver out there?

Thank you.
