T60p 8744-J2U driving 1920x1080 LCD

Hi thinkpad folks,

I'm hoping to get an external LCD monitor for my T60p (8744-J2U) with FireGL 5250. The external monitor has 1920x1080 native resolution. I plan on using this monitor as my external display. My question is as follows: Will my T60p be able to output to this monitor at 1920x1080 without a dock through a VGA port? Have you done this? What are your impressions?

I also have a T60p (8744-J2U), and use it with the Lenovo ThinkVision L220x Wide LCD Display native resolution 1920 x 1200. Works great as is, no dock.
