Solution for auto reboot on shutdown

Hi

I know there are a few people out there who have been struggling with their ThinkPads rebooting after choosing shut down. I was having this problem too, and I solved it today.

The solution is to open it up (check the Lenovo website for a great manual on how to do so correctly), and disconnect the yellow backup battery for a few minutes (while also removing the main battery and disconnecting the power adapter, obviously).

So:
- Disconnect power adapter
- Remove battery
- Remove palm rest and keyboard (5 screws)
- Locate the yellow backup battery, somewhere near the memory (area of the space bar)
- Disconnect it (I recommend using a small flathead screwdriver to aid you)
- Wait a few minutes
- Reconnect en put the keyboard and palm rest back into place
- On startup, you will get an error message noting that the date/time has been cleared. You can fix that in BIOS on first boot (recommended). Press F1 on startup --> Date/Time --> Set it, then --> F10

I hope people who were looking for this solution will find this post helpful. It was intended to help people, anyway :-)

Best of luck and enjoy your ThinkPad!
