expresscard SSD issues on T60

I recently bought a Verbatim 16Gb expresscard SSD. It is an interesting piece of hardware, with its very low access time, and its 120 Mb/s read - 30Mb/s write speeds.
It does not work properly when used with my T60 though.
Reading works well, but often writing returns parity errors, both in Vista (where they result in a "memory parity error - contact vendor" blue screen) and on the heaviest test of an external program for testing disks called http://www.hdat2.com.
Hitachi Drive Fitness Test reports no errors - but it does not perform disk writes.
I checked my T60's RAM and disk, and they have no problems. On another computer, a recent Acer Core2, the SSD works flawlessly.
Has anyone had similar experiences on the T60 with this or others SSD?
Does the T60 suffer from a limited power supply from the expresscard slot?
