Bluetooth not working

#1 Post by anshu.kapoor » Tue Sep 29, 2009 1:22 am

Hi

I have a T60.
Few days back my hard disk crashed. I got a new hard disk. Now I have Windows XP service pack 3 on it.

I have installed all the drivers manually.

My bluetooth is still giving me problems. I can access WLAN without any issues.

For bluetooth I installed the following driver: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... 70450.html

When I click "My BLuetooth Places" it gives me the following error:"Bluetooth device not found. Please verify that your Bluetooth Device is properly connected and turned on."

In device manager under "Bluetooth Devices" it shows "Bluetooth Bus Enumerator".

Also I have installed ThinkVantage Access Connections, but Fn-F5 is not working.

Please suggest something.

Thanks

Install System Update 3 and get the right drivers on that machine. You are going to need the Hotkey and the system interface drivers for FN-F5 to work.

Hi

As suggested I have installed the Install System Update 3, Hotkey and the system interface drivers. Fn-F5 is working now. But bluetooth still gives the same error.

I installed the "Bluetooth Enhanced Data Rate software" available at the Lenovo site: "http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... #bluetooth"

Are these not the correct dirvers?

Where I can get the correct drivers from? How to know which are the correct dirvers?

thanks

In FN-F5, is the bluetooth radio enabled?

That is not the bluetooth radio. That is for the WLAN wireless radio.

You need to insure that the BT radio is on. If the Fn+F5 Wireless Radios Panel does not show both radios, you are going to get nowhere. If you have both radios lit, uninstall whatever drivers you used and run System Update again, making sure the BT radio is turned on. If you don't have the BT radio listed in the Fn+F5 Wireless Radios Panel you need to diagnose that problem first.

Check BIOS, Check Device Manager, scan for new PnP devices. Let us know what you find. Good luck.
