Unless you work in a dirty environment, there will hardly be any dust in the HD cavity.
But if you have nothing better to do, it won't hurt at all to remove the HD and blow the cavity out.
Shouldn't take more than a few minutes.

I posted something just a few hours ago asking if there's a need to disable/deactivate the security chip in the bios prior to removing the HD. Do you think it's necessary to deactivate/disable the security chip?
I'm afraid that if I remove the HD with the security chip activated, the BIOS/laptop may go kaput.

If the TP is switched off and AC/battery disconnected, you can remove anything you like without causing damage.

Apologies for me being too stubborn and too OC, but does your statement
mean that I can remove the HD without deactivating/disabling the security chip
as long as I have my TP switched off and the battery removed?
