Questions on T60p upgrade costs through Lenovo/IBM

Hello, just wondering about peoples experience with upgrades through lenovo.
If for instance, you wanted to upgrade an LCD or a wireless N or WWAN (can't think of anything else) without invalidating a warranty:
1) How much would be charged for these types of upgrades? Are UK prices more expensive?
2) What would happen with warranties? Would it be a new one?
3) Would the warranty be just for the upgrades or the whole machine?
4) Would it be cheaper locating the parts yourself, then sending/carrying the parts to them and only paying for installation of the parts?
5) Would your model number stay the same, or would it change due to the upgrades?
Refurbished machines comes with extended warranties, but I would suppose that anything you wanted done on a refurb machine would be beneficial in the 3 months Lenovo/IBM warranty rather than the Mack/non IBM extended ones? (or does it not matter?)
Thanks for the on going help.

I think it is unlikely Lenovo would preform any upgrades for you. Probably the best course of action is to sell what you've got now and buy the machine you want. You could do the upgrades yourself and it'll be cheaper, but that may have consequences for your warranty.

Thanks for the reply and I have to admit that I wasn't expecting that answer!
I haven't really bought anything as yet (well...I have but I'm waiting for my cousin to receive it in the US. Want to get her to check it's all in order first, before it's sent to the UK. If it's not, then I'll be fully refunded within a certain amount of days).
I had no idea that Lenovo would not perform upgrades. Looks like I'll have to watch those training videos very carefully.....

Hmmm. I haven't really heard good things about them and it probably wouldn't be honored internationally/UK anyway, so I've already discard the notion of having any success with them even if it were offered with a seller. As long as the 3 months IBM warranty is available, I can use a post warranty upgrade when it runs out.
Thanks for the warning.

I don't know whether warranty on IBM refurbs sold in the U.S. is valid internationally, but would tend to think that it's not....
Not to mention the fact that these machines are usually way more costly than they would be elsewhere on the open market...
My $0.02 only...

Lenovo warranty info:
Note: Refurbished machines are not eligible for International Warranty Service. Refurbished machines can be identified by their model number (for example, refurbished machines have RRx, XXx, xRR, or xxx as the model number). In general, most refurbished machine warranties are shorter than the original machine warranty and are only valid within the country of purchase.
Straight to post warranty it is then (after I install the upgrades)
