Odd, it never did that to me.
When it's running, unplug the ac adapter then wait like 3 seconds and plug it back in. Alternatively you can configure Windows Mobility Center to not lower your screen brightness.

Interesting.
I loaded up the RC version on there for you.
Glad you got it sorted.

I have an X60 Tablet which does this with Windows 7 retail. It's quite annoying although I haven't tried experimenting with a fix yet.

I've noticed that both sleep and hibernate suffer from this issue on my X60 Tablet. I have a feeling Power Manager may be at fault, but I haven't done any testing on it yet.

I have this problem too. I have a X60 tablet with Windows 7 Professional 32-bit. Did anyone solve the problem?

It's easy as pie. Windows 7 remembers brigtness levels for plugged in\ out configurations automatically. On all Thinkpads from 60 series on, Windows controls brigtness through the BIOS. So change your power plan settings (click on the battery icon in the status bar), that's all.

It's not as simple as that. The screen isn't just adjusting to the lowest normal setting when resuming, it's waking up with a significantly lower brightness than what the normal range allows. It seems to be rather inconsistent too, where sometimes the brightest resumed setting will resemble the lowest normal setting, or sometimes it will be brighter or darker than that. When it resumes only partially darkened, I can usually get away with using it, but oftentimes it is hard to tell if the screen is even on because the backlight is so dim. I only used Windows XP Tablet Edition on it for a few days before going to Windows 7 so I don't know if it happens on XP as well, but from the posts it seems to be a Windows 7 issue.

Changing the power plan, as Hauskaz said, isn't a solution. The screen remains still dim.
I asked for a solution on Lenovo's forum. Someone told me to disconnect and then reconnect the charger to the laptop. I tried his solution and it was surprised to find out it really works. Now the problem is what to do when I encounter this problem when my laptop runs on battery and I don't have the charger with me.

I uninstalled ThinkPad Power Manager to see if it causes the problem, but the problem persisted. So, the program isn't the cause of the problem.

Got this same problem on T60, Win 7 64b Ultimate.
When coming out of hibernation, the dim is at lowest level and Fn Home would not do anything (it does not even display the info).
Found a lot of people running into this problem via google. Anyone has solution?
