Putting T60P screen into T60?

Hey just wondering if it was possible to take the screen from a T60P (1400x1050 res) and put it into a T60 with integrated graphics.

The reason I am asking is that I find the T60P to be a very huge power hog even when running on lowest settings (using power manager), but I do very much enjoy the high resolution.

Also would anyone happen to know how to (if at all possible) underclock the FireGL V5250? I've tried looking around and found people talking about it but never any concrete solution.

I don't think the video can be underclocked. The integrated video will drive sxga+ (1400X1050) screen. UI believe it will not drive UXGA (1600X1200). You need to change the fan and video driver. I have a couple of integrated video boards. If you want to discuss, send me a PM. I would also discuss trades or installation.

I've done it on the R60 and the FlexView worked fine on the Intel GPU. I don't see why it wouldn't work on a T60, but I don't have any firsthand knowledge and you never know. I'm assuming your T60 has an XGA screen, which means you'll have to swap the cable and inverter in addition to the screen. Consult the T60 service parts for more information.

No cable/inverter swap is required on T60 series, since all models within a screen size use the same cable/inverter.

Going from XGA to SXGA+ on a 14" Intel-based T60 is a straight panel swap, nothing more.

I'll defer to your judgment George, as you've got way more experience with this than I do. I noticed you're correct that the cables are the same, but on LCD parts list, the inverters have a different part number. Are they a different part or just a different label?
