Adding fingerprint reader to T60

Hi all,

My version of T60 did not come with a fingerprint reader. Recently I bought a plam rest with fingerprint reader part and tried to replace the original one with it.

The cable should be properly connected and the Trackpad on the palm rest works fine. However, Windows and the latest Lenovo fingerprint software seem not to be able to recognize the reader. I can find the security chips option in the BIOS (v2.25), but not the finger reader related ones...

Did I miss anything to make that reader work? I really love to have that function... Or, it just won't work in those T60 model originally with fingerprint reader?

Do anyone have similar experience?

Nothing else is needed. Under security in the bios, there should be a fingerprint tab if the reader is sensed.

It's not worth it imo. I never use the feature.
