My T60 just started making this wierd "clicking" noise about once a second. The sound is coming from the speakers, and only after the system warms up. I have disconnected the speakers since the noise is rather annoying. If anyone has any insight, please let me know.

Try going into the sound properties and muting the microphone.

the microphone is already muted. When I lift the keyboard there seems to be a very faint squealing type noise coming from the processor region. the clicking seems to go along with this noise. i have tried updating the bios, and disabling the power saving options for the processor and usb ports. I have also tried the computer with and without battery, and without a/c adapter.

In my T60p, I too get the buzzing/whining from the processor area. It's a little annoying, but I think it's normal to a certain extent in electronic components. No such noise in the T60.

I can deal with the whining/buzzing noise, but does anybody have a clue about the sound from the speakers?

Does it happens when you're using external monitor?
If yes, I guess the noise comes from graphic card.
I have same problem when scrolling mouse wheel up and down, and stopped using external monitor.

I used to have this annoying clicksound on the external speakers with my T60p and it almost drove me crazy. I tried everything and in the end i was just feed up with it and gave anything a try and what helped me was turning off the IR. After that the clicksound totally disappeared. Give it a try if you havn't tried it already. Dont ask me why, but for me it solved the problem.
